Annette Curtis Klause: The Silver Kiss

I've just finished this book and I decided to write a review immediately. I mean it. I shut the book, took a picture of it, uploaded it into my computer and now I'm writing about it. Why? Because I'm full of emotions. Yeah, that doesn't happen often so I better use it.
When I first saw this tiny little book which was a few pages shy of 200 (the format is really small, so in a normal-sized book it would rather be a long short-story....if it makes any sense) I thought it would be one of those let's-attract-teenagers-on-an-old-dangerous-vampire-boy-meets-a-modern-girl-who-is-not-afraid-of-him-and-as-a-bonus-she-will-help-him-find-humanity-theme kind of book with a happy ending.
Instead I've got melancholy. I've got suppressed anger, I've got fear, I've got loneliness... Oh my... It is packed with emotions and makes you think. Losing the ones we love is very difficult and the characters of this book must deal with it. The protagonist, Zöe, is going to lose three people in three different ways. I don't envy her. Sometimes, letting go is a bitch.
I swear, if I had tear ducts, I'd cry like a baby. It was a refreshing read and I really appreciate how it turned out.

GENRE: short evil stuff that will make you cry
FANGS OUT: the ending, fast flow of the story
FANGS RETRACTING: Well, since it's a thin book, there isn't much of a storybuilding and it only follows one storyline.
TOTAL SCORE:
